3 eggs to hide one on each of three floors. We want to have 10 clues to find each egg.
Purpose of the Activity
This Scavenger Hunt is designed to be a fun and engaging social event that encourages residents to interact with each other and explore their community. The primary goals are to promote gentle physical activity as residents move between floors, provide cognitive stimulation through problem-solving and reading clues, and foster a sense of teamwork and community spirit. It is a perfect way to encourage laughter, friendly competition, and shared memories.
Materials Needed
- Clue Cards: 30 small cards or slips of paper for the clues (10 per floor). It is helpful to color-code the cards for each floor (e.g., Floor 1 = green, Floor 2 = yellow, Floor 3 = blue).
- Plastic Eggs: 3 larger-sized plastic eggs, one for each floor's final prize.
- Prizes: Small prizes to place inside each of the three eggs. This could be a gift certificate to the community bistro, a few movie tickets for the community theater, or a free pass for a special event.
- Grand Prize: One larger prize for the individual or team that successfully completes the entire hunt.
- Instruction Sheets: A handout for each participant or team with the first clue and general rules.
- Pens or Pencils: For residents who may want to write notes.
- Signage: A "Scavenger Hunt Start" sign for the kick-off location.
- Clipboards (Optional): To make it easier for residents to hold their clue sheets.
Estimated Duration
- 60 to 90 minutes. This allows for a relaxed pace, time for socializing, and movement between floors without anyone feeling rushed.
Ideal Group Size
- 10 to 30 residents. This size is manageable for staff and allows residents to participate in small teams (2-3 people per team) without too much crowding at clue locations.
