Kick off our Wellness Champions' Journey by sharing personal stories of health and resilience. Using guided prompts, residents will recall moments of strength and discuss what 'championing your health' means to them. We will create a 'Wall of Champions' to post our wellness goals for the month.

Purpose of the activity

This activity is designed to launch your community's Wellness Champions' Journey in a meaningful and personal way. It serves several key purposes: to foster a strong sense of community by creating a safe space for sharing, to empower residents by helping them recognize their own resilience and inner strength, and to inspire them to take an active role in their health. By creating a 'Wall of Champions,' we collectively set a positive, supportive, and goal-oriented tone for the wellness initiatives to come.

Materials needed

- A large, accessible bulletin board or a designated section of a wall.
- A sign or banner that reads "Our Wall of Champions".
- Colorful construction paper or pre-cut cardstock shapes (stars, ribbons, or shields work well).
- A variety of markers, pens, and colored pencils. Consider easy-grip or thicker options.
- A whiteboard or large flip chart with an easel.
- A prepared list of guided discussion prompts (see Step-by-Step Guidance for examples).
- Optional: Uplifting, soft background music to play at a low volume.
- Optional: Healthy and appealing refreshments, such as fruit-infused water, herbal tea, and a fresh fruit platter.
- Optional: A small token for each participant, like a "Wellness Champion" ribbon, to take with them.
