This activity is designed to honor and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures within the community. It provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to socialize, enjoy the outdoors, and reminisce in a festive and relaxed setting. The sensory experiences of a BBQ—the smell of grilling food, classic summer music, and warm sunshine—can evoke positive memories and promote emotional well-being. It also fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among residents and staff.
Purpose of the Activity
The primary purpose of the Gather's Day BBQ is to create a joyful and inclusive event that celebrates the male residents in our community. This activity aims to stimulate the senses through familiar sights, sounds, and smells associated with a classic summer cookout. It encourages social interaction, helps build relationships among residents and staff, and provides a special occasion for residents to share stories and create new, happy memories together.
