Purpose of the Activity
This activity is designed to provide residents with a meaningful connection to the natural world. It promotes cognitive stimulation through planning and sequencing tasks, offers sensory engagement with the textures and smells of soil and plants, and supports fine motor skills. The ongoing process of caring for a plant fosters a sense of purpose, responsibility, and accomplishment, while providing a gentle, calming focus.
