Enjoy a lighthearted session of friendly competition and laughter. We'll play a few rounds of Thanksgiving-themed trivia, testing our knowledge of the holiday's history and traditions. Afterwards, we'll play a unique game of "Gratitude Bingo" where squares feature things to be thankful for, like 'a sunny day' or 'a good friend'.

Purpose of the Activity

This activity is designed to provide mental stimulation, encourage social interaction, and foster a positive atmosphere of thankfulness. The trivia portion challenges memory and recall in a fun, low-pressure setting. The Gratitude Bingo game shifts the focus to reflection and appreciation, allowing residents to connect with positive emotions and share common joys with their neighbors.

Materials Needed

For Thanksgiving Trivia:
A prepared list of 15-20 Thanksgiving-themed trivia questions and answers.
A large whiteboard or flip chart to display questions and keep score.
Dry-erase markers or pens.
Optional: Small bells or buzzers for teams to "buzz in".
Small, simple prizes for the winning team or individual (e.g., candy, festive pencils, small lotions).

For Gratitude Bingo:
Pre-printed "Gratitude Bingo" cards for each participant. Each card should have a 5x5 grid with a "FREE SPACE" in the center and various items to be grateful for in the other squares (e.g., "A Warm Cup of Coffee," "Laughter," "A Good Book"). Ensure you have multiple versions of the cards.
Bingo markers (chips, daubers, buttons, or seasonal candy like candy corn).
A master list of all the items featured on the bingo cards for the activity leader to call from.
Prizes for bingo winners.
