Residents will observe and then replicate a simple experiment using a shallow dish of water, a sprinkle of ground pepper, and a drop of dish soap. When the soap is added, the pepper dramatically disperses to the edges of the dish, illustrating the concept of surface tension and how it can be disrupted. This activity offers a quick, visually engaging "aha!" moment about the invisible forces acting on water.
